Event: Clambake

Why did I attend this event? What was my interest? I’ve been meaning to go to this event for over a year now and I finally got to go last month. I’ve been hearing about how this is always a great event to go to once a month because the presentations and networking opportunities are very beneficial.
What knowledge did I leave with? I learned so many different things at this event. The event took place at The Avenue Concept, which is a building/program that promotes and supports all of the art installations around Providence. There were a couple of special guests who each presented during this event and they were Adam Anderson and Monica Shinn.
What types of engagement did I have? At the beginning of the event I met and spoke with one of the leaders of The Avenue Concept and she filled us in on what they do at this building and what kind of organization they are. Shortly after that, I met a woman who works for DESIGNxRI and she talked about what this Clambake was going to be about and how we should network with as many people at the event as we could. Towards the end of the event, I met a student from Brown University who was interning at DESIGNxRI and talked to her with several of my classmates for a while.
Will I continue dialog with anyone and why? I’m hoping to continue dialog with the woman I met from DESIGNxRI by attending another upcoming Clambake and talking to her further about any possible opportunities. I also hope to continue dialog with the student from Brown because she mentioned needing help shooting a future project having to do with fashion.
